Nottingham Forest now make contact to sign Wilson Isidor

Nottingham Forest have now made contact to sign a “one man machine”, who could be brought in as an alternative to Lorenzo Lucca.

Forest identify new striker target

With Arnaud Kalimuendo joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan, it is important Forest bring in a new striker before the February 2nd deadline, and they have identified a number of options, with Napoli’s Lorenzo Lucca among the main targets.

At one stage, the Tricky Trees were said to be on the verge of signing Lucca, but they are yet to complete a deal for the Italian, and they may want to think twice, given that he has struggled to make an impact in the Serie A this season.

Ferguson has also been inconsistent in front of goal, while Abraham and Taremi have been playing in weaker leagues, so it would perhaps make sense to identify an alternative target, and a Premier League striker has now entered the frame.

That is according to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, who has revealed Nottingham Forest have made contact over a deal for Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor.

There could be competition for Isidor’s signature, however, with Everton submitting an enquiry, while there is also interest from a number of unnamed clubs from overseas.

Forest are yet to make a concrete approach, as they have a number of other targets on the shortlist, but there is certainly interest in the Frenchman, who has fallen down the pecking order at Sunderland, despite making a promising start to life in the Premier League…

“Machine” Isidor would be risky signing for Forest

Sky Sports’ Dougie Critchley has waxed lyrical about the 25-year-old in the past, taking to X to praise him for his performances in the Championship en-route to the Black Cats getting promoted last season.

The Rennes-born striker then went on to make a solid start to life in the top tier, scoring in Sunderland’s first three home games, before going on to find the back of the net in a 2-1 victory against Chelsea near the end of October.

However, the former AS Monaco man has struggled to make much of an impact since, predominantly being used as a substitute since December, having failed to score since the win against the Blues.

Forest are in negotiations to sign a new defender.

As such, Isidor would be a risky signing for Nottingham Forest, and Lucca would perhaps be the better option, given that the Italian has already proven himself in a major European league, netting 12 Serie A goals last term.
