Liverpool players who are leaving this summer

The Reds are facing another summer of change as Andy Robertson became the latest club legend to confirm his decision to leave at the end of the season.

Mohamed Salah announced his own departure during the international break, and the left-back is now set to follow suit.

The Scotland captain has spent nine seasons with the Reds, making 373 appearances and winning two Premier League titles, a Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield.

Where does Andy Robertson rank?

The 32-year-old has been limited to just 15 starts this season following the arrival of Milos Kerkez, and will leave when his contract expires in the summer.

Speaking on the club’s website, Robertson said: “It’s never easy leaving a club like Liverpoolit has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life for the last nine years. But for me, players move on, other people move on – the thing that stays the same is the club and obviously the fans.

“I’ve had an amazing nine years here. Look, I think it has been well-documented, especially over the last year or so, I’ve had opportunities to leave and I’ve not taken them because of how difficult it is to leave this club. And I wouldn’t change that for the world.”

With doubts also surrounding the future of manager Arne Slot, the Reds could be in a for a hectic transfer window and pre-season, but Romano has now delivered some positive news at last.

Konate nearing contract agreement

Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate

Indeed, the reporter revealed on his YouTube channel that Liverpool are in the “final stages” of a new deal for Konate, who has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid.

While nothing is signed and sealed yet, it sounds like there will be no repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation.

“The agreement between Konate and Liverpool is getting closer, is almost there. It’s not done, signed, completed yet, and we have to wait until the very end before saying it’s done.”

Romano claims the contract length and salary are still being discussed, but Liverpool are “leading the race” to get it done in the face of interest from Real Madrid.

The new contract is likely to make Konate one of the club’s highest earners, as he currently ranks surprisingly low on Liverpool’s wage list.

“At the moment, the club leading the race to have Konate’s services from next season is Liverpool.”

Ibrahima Konate’s Liverpool stats

  • 175 appearances

  • 7 goals

  • 4 assists

  • 1x Premier League

  • 1x FA Cup

  • 2x League Cup

Virgil van Dijk will have just one year remaining on his contract this summer, so a move to tie Konate down for the long-term future looks essential.
