Rangers could sign the new Raskin by beating Celtic to £9m star
Those behind the scenes at Glasgow Rangers may already have one eye on what is going to happen in the upcoming summer transfer window at Ibrox.
Whilst there is a battle to win the Scottish Premiership title ongoing, there is plenty of work to do in the summer and work will already be underway to improve the squad.
The Light Blues will be looking at players who could come in to bolster the squad, such as Leeds United forward Joel Piroe, who has been linked with a move to Glasgow.
However, there could also be players who end up moving on from Ibrox due to interest from other clubs, such as central midfielder Nicolas Raskin.
Several Premier League teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, are reportedly eyeing up the Belgium international ahead of the summer window.
Danny Rohl’s plan to keep Nicolas Raskin at Rangers
Amid this interest in the former Standard Liege star, Danny Rohl has reportedly concocted a plan to keep the central midfielder at Ibrox beyond the end of the window.
Football Insider recently reported that the German head coach plans to convince Raskin to give the Gers one more year of service before being given the green light to pursue a move elsewhere in 2027.
The Belgian star, who has scored seven goals and provided nine assists in all competitions this season, will only have one year left on his current contract at the end of next season, which would make it the ideal time to cash in on him.
It is an interesting plan of action from Rohl because it could work best for all parties involved, as the Gers can get another year of his talent, Raskin would know that he is free to leave next year, and interested teams would have 12 months to prepare to make offers.

Whilst the 25-year-old star may remain at Ibrox for another year, the Gers could also sign their next version of the Belgian talent in the summer window.
Rangers could beat Celtic to the signing of their new Nicolas Raskin
The Gers and Celtic are both reportedly interested in signing a player who could arrive at Ibrox as Rohl’s next version of Raskin in the middle of the park.
TEAMtalk reported last month that Rangers held talks with Hacken over a deal to sign Silas Andersen in the January transfer window, only for a summer move to become more realistic, as they remain keen on a swoop for the midfielder.
The Danish star, who has been valued at £9m by his club, is also a reported target for fierce rivals Celtic, who emerged as one of the frontrunners for his signature in March.
If the Gers can beat the Hoops to the signing of the 21-year-old starlet, Rohl could already have his replacement for Raskin in the building 12 months before allowing the Belgian to move on from Ibrox.

Andersen’s performances in the 2025 Allsvenskan for Hacken show that he is a tough-tackling and combative midfielder who could break up play even more effectively than Raskin, who currently leads Rangers in tackles made (81).
The Dane is not as effective as an attacking force, with two goals and two assists in the 2025 campaign, but he can chip in with goals and assists to go along with his outstanding defensive work.
It is also worth remembering that Raskin only scored one goal in his last 18 months in the Pro League with Standard Liege before signing for Rangers, which shows that the Gers can work with Andersen to improve his attacking output.
Like the Belgian, though, the £9m-rated star would arrive at Ibrox as a midfielder who can dominate opposition midfields with his ability to win tackles, interceptions, and duels at an impressive rate.
At the age of 21, Andersen is also four years younger than Raskin and could emerge as his eventual successor in Glasgow, should the current Gers star leave the club next year.
