PSG hold talks to sign ‘underrated’ Newcastle star as Magpies set £75m price tag
European champions PSG have entered the running to sign an ‘underrated’ Newcastle star as Eddie Howe’s set a £75 million price tag.
Newcastle face key player exodus this summer
It is shaping up to be a summer of upheaval on Tyneside.
Newcastle’s disappointing campaign has left the club facing difficult questions, and the answers may involve losing some of their best players before they can even begin rebuilding.
Anthony Gordon’s situation has dominated the headlines, and rightly so, but he is far from the only first-team regular whose future at St James’ Park looks uncertain.
Sandro Tonali’s representatives have been quietly laying the groundwork for a departure for months, with Arsenal, Man United, Juventus and Real Madrid all linked to the Italian.
The 25-year-old’s camp are rumoured to believe a gentleman’s agreement is in place with the club: if Newcastle fail to qualify for European football — which they won’t — offers will be considered.
Newcastle are reportedly demanding in the region of £100mbut the sheer volume of interest suggests a deal could materialise quickly once the window opens.

Ex-Liverpool star edging closer to ‘lucrative’ Newcastle move after update
The Magpies have wanted him for quite a while.
Tino Livramento is another significant concern.
The 23-year-old right-back has been sidelined with a thigh injury since March and is not expected to feature again this season, with one eye on the World Cup.
More importantly, contract extension talks have stalled, and he has just two years remaining on his current deal.
Arsenal have been long-term admirers, Liverpool have recently entered the frame, and even Tottenham are believed to be interested if they survive the drop.
Newcastle know that if Livramento does not commit to a new deal soon, they may be forced to sell rather than risk losing him for a reduced fee further down the line.
Lewis Hall has also been linked with a move away, adding to a picture that increasingly resembles a squad in danger of being dismantled rather than strengthened.
PSG hold Anthony Gordon talks amid Bayern Munich agreement
It is against that backdrop that the latest development around Gordon lands.
According to TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey and other reliable media sources, the 25-year-old’s camp have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, with the England international open to testing himself in the Bundesliga.
Gordon has six goals and two assists in the Premier League this season, not to mention 17 strikes in all competitions, and remains one of Newcastle’s most important attacking players.
However, Bayern are not alone.
TEAMtalk also report that PSG have held conversations over a possible move for Gordonadding another heavyweight to a race that already includes Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
The French champions are exploring their options after a season of transition and view Gordon as a profile that fits their recruitment plans.
Newcastle’s position is clear: no sale below £75m.
Gordon has no release clause in his contract, which runs until 2030, and the club are under no obligation to sell. Bayern’s current valuation is understood to sit closer to £50-60m — well short of what would be required to open serious negotiations.
While the ‘underrated‘ winger’s next move is most likely to be Bayern at this stage, the race may still be wide open.
