Arsenal ready to make bid for “exciting” £34m Morgan Rogers alternative

Arsenal are now ramping up their pursuit of a new left-winger, as we edge closer towards the end of the World Cup.

Christos Tzolis and Morgan Rogers are among the main targets, and both could arrive at the Emirates Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.

That is according to Fabrizio Romanowho said: “One of the names being mentioned internally, and Arsenal are in contact with his agent, is Christos Tzolis, the winger from Brugge. So, Tzolis is keen on a move to Arsenal.

“Morgan Rogers remains top target in a separate move.”

A move for Rogers may have to wait until after the World Cup, with the Aston Villa star currently representing the Three Lions, who take on Argentina in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

England defeated Norway 2-1 after extra-time to reach this stage of the competition, with Jude Bellingham bagging a brace, and the Gunners are now plotting a move for one of Erling Haaland’s teammates.

Arsenal ready to make bid for Norway star

According to a report from Caught Offside, Arsenal are now ready to make a bid for RB Leipzig star Antonio Nusawith a €40m (£34m) opening offer in the works.

However, the German side would prefer to keep hold of their left-winger, which means it could take offers of around €60m (£51m) to tempt them into a sale.

Football FanCast’s Verdict

Credibility

Arsenal need to sign a new left-winger this summer, following Leandro Trossard’s departure to Besiktas. With Villa demanding around £130m for Rogers, Nusa could be brought in as a cheaper alternative.

Finances

RB Leipzig could be willing to sanction a departure for around £51m, which would make the Norway international far more affordable than Rogers, who would become the most expensive player in Premier League history at £130m.

Insight

However, unlike the Villa forward, the Leipzig man has no experience in the Premier League. Last season, he picked up four goals and three assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances.

Impact

The 21-year-old could be signed as a direct replacement for Trossard, who has officially joined Besiktas, or as an alternative to Tzolis, who the Gunners have recently been pushing to sign.

Why Antonio Nusa could be a better signing than Tzolis

Rogers should perhaps remain Arsenal’s top target, as he is already proven in the Premier League, picking up ten goals and seven assists in the competition last season.

That said, the Norway international could be a better signing than Tzolis, considering he is only 21, whereas the Club Brugge star is 24, and failed to score in 14 Premier League appearances for Norwich City.

Ben-White-Tzolis

The Greek winger has never proven himself in one of Europe’s top leagues, and Mikel Arteta’s side should be cautious about signing him based solely on a record of 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 matches for Club Brugge.

Nusa, on the other hand, has been called “incredibly exciting” by Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, and caught the eye at the World Cup, scoring in a 2-1 round of 32 victory against the Ivory Coast.
