Aston Villa star Emi Martinez accepts lower salary to join Juventus this summer
Aston Villa are now facing the threat of losing another star man alongside Morgan Rogers this summer, with a European giant in talks to sign one of Unai Emery’s favourite players.
Aston Villa star reaches agreement to leave
Even with Champions League qualification to flex, Aston Villa’s PSR (newly-named SCR) problems aren’t set to go away anytime soon. They’re still facing the prospect of a big-name sale and it looks as though Rogers is at the centre of headlines for that very reason.
The England star could generate as much as £100m, just like Jack Grealish many moons ago, and is attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
Losing him would be a major blow, but that might not be the end of the Villans’ misery. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are in talks to sign Emiliano Martinez and see the shot-stopper as a priority target this summer.
Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio has added more fuel to the fire, reporting that the player has actually already reached an agreement with Juveaccepting a lower salary to pen a three-year deal.
It’s like Déjà vu for those in the Midlands, who thought they were bidding farewell to their No.1 at the end of the 24/25 campaign last summer, only for any move to Manchester United or other clubs to break down.
Now, a year later, they’re once again facing the prospect of losing the Argentina international, but Di Marzio suggests this time they aren’t standing in his way.

Why Aston Villa should cash in on Martinez
It may sound absurd, but now is the best time to cash in on Martinez. If rumours persist over his future every summer, then it seems unlikely that he plans to retire at Villa Park. That means now may be the club’s last chance to ease SCR concerns by sanctioning a sale for the 33-year-old.
Even after Unai Emery called the goalkeeper “fantastic” last season, it’s becoming clear that those in the Midlands have a decision to make, rather than watching the same saga unfold every year.
The Argentine hero will undoubtedly bow out a Villa Park legend. He’s played a key part in dragging the club to Champions League qualification and last season’s Europa League success. But every player is replaceable and Martinez is no difference.
If Juventus table the right offer, then Aston Villa should bid farewell to their goalkeeper.
