Danny Rohl ready to walk away from Ibrox and quit Rangers on one condition

Danny Rohl is now ready to walk away from Ibrox and quit Rangers on one condition this summer, less than a year since he arrived in Scotland.

Rohl ready to quit Rangers on one condition

It’s not been a great couple of weeks for Rohl. The Rangers boss has been forced to watch on as his side’s title hopes crumbled in brutal fashion against Hearts and Celtic.

It’s created several questions about his tenure and reports have even claimed that the Rangers board are split over his tenure. It would certainly be a ruthless decision to show Rohl the door at this stage, but the size of the job suggests that silverware is simply a must.

The Gers have plenty of concerns to address…

Recent results may even have the German questioning his position himself. According to Football Insider, Rohl is ready to quit Rangers if he is offered a position elsewhere.

Former Man United coach Mick Brown had his say on the situation, telling Football Insider: “Danny Rohl has a good reputation from when he was at Sheffield Wednesday, he’s very highly thought of, and there are a few clubs who have looked at him.

“Before he joined Rangers, a lot of Championship clubs wanted to bring him in, and there was also talk of a potential move back to Germany.

“That’s something I expect to crop up again now, and to be honest, I wouldn’t be shocked if he decided to walk away from Rangers and take another job.”

It would be a stunning decision, but one that still seems unlikely at this stage, especially after Rohl revealed just how much backing he’s received from the 49ers as of late.

Rohl insists he has “unbelievable” support from Rangers

The Rangers boss has quickly rubbished rumours that he could be heading for a swift departure out of Ibrox, revealing to reporters that he has had “unbelievable” support at the club.

Rohl told reporters: “I think the last 48 hours, there was unbelievable support from the board. Everyone around me sees a lot of positive things, but we are also critical of ourselves. I think there’s no question mark.

Rangers fans, is Danny Rohl the right man for the job?

“The most important thing is it is what I have said many times, we have to take all the information and what we need into the new season. I think you can imagine, with (James) Tav (Tavernier leaving after 11 years), we lose the captain, and it means for us, this is a big signal as well.

“We need new leaders, more leaders for the dressing room, to set our standards that we want on the training pitch, in difficult moments in the game. I think this is crucial. This is a great opportunity to work on this.”
