Leeds are discussing a move to sign Harry Wilson’s dream striker for £30m
Leeds United showed off their pulling power when they were able to win the race to sign free agent forward Harry Wilson after his contract at Fulham expired.
The Wales international has penned a four-year contract at Elland Road after he decided to move on from the Cottagers, who are an established Premier League side.
Despite the fact that they are only heading into their second year back in the big time, the Whites were able to convince a proven Premier League forward to turn down offers from elsewhere to link up with Daniel Farke’s side.
Wilson will offer a big goal threat for the West Yorkshire outfit, after scoring ten goals last season, but that may not be the only quality that he brings to the table.
The underrated quality Harry Wilson will bring to Leeds United
The experienced forward scored ten goals from 5.83 xG in the Premier League in the 2025/26 campaign, which shows that he is an incredibly efficient finisher who does not need too many high-quality opportunities to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
An underrated part of the Welsh attacker’s game, however, is the creativity that he can offer from the right flank, cutting in onto his left foot to provide passes and crosses for his teammates.
Wilson created eight ‘big chances’, 4.78 xA, and seven assists for Fulham in 36 appearances in the Premier League last season, racking up at least two more assists than every single player in the Leeds squad.

The 29-year-old winger is a prolific creator on top of being an outstanding goalscorer, and his statistics in comparison to the players that Farke had at his disposal suggest that he could be the most creative player at the club next term.
Leeds, though, will need to have players who can make the most of the forward’s impressive chance creation ability in the Premier League in the 2026/27 campaign.
Leeds eyeing £30m star who could make Wilson unstoppable
That may be why the club are now looking at bringing in a player who could arrive at Elland Road to make Wilson an unstoppable force at the top end of the pitch next season.
The Daily Mail reports that Leeds United are in the market to add a new number nine to their squad before the end of the summer transfer window to provide Dominic Calvert-Lewin with competition for his place.
It claims that the Whites have internally discussed a potential deal to sign Feyenoord centre-forward Ayase Ueda, but they have yet to make any formal approach for his services.
The Japan international has previously been touted at a fee of £30m and this latest report suggests that Leeds believe that they could find better value elsewhere.

His form for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie last season, scoring a staggering 25 goals, suggests that he may still be great value for money at £30m, particularly when you consider that Ismael Saibari recently joined Bayern Munich for £47m.
Ueda scored 26 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Dutch team, 11 more goals than Calvert-Lewin managed in all competitions for Leeds, and could be the perfect striker to pair with Wilson at Elland Road next term.
The Japan international, who scored two goals in four matches at the World Cup, racked up 25 goals from 18.93 xG in the Eredivisie last term, with a conversation rate of 25%.
Meanwhile, Calvert-Lewin only scored 14 goals from 15.81 xG in the Premier League, with a conversation rate of 19%, which suggests that the Feyenoord ace would arrive in West Yorkshire as a significantly better finisher than the England international.
The £30m-rated star’s performances for the Dutch team suggest that he would be far more likely to take advantage of Wilson’s creative quality, as he could score more goals than Calvert-Lewin thanks to his superior finishing.
That means that Ueda could make the Wales international an unstoppable force on the right wing as defenders would have to worry about the creativity that he could provide for the lethal Japanese forward, as well as his own threat as a goalscorer.
