Liverpool in talks with Barcelona target as Edwards pushes for cut-price deal
After getting their business underway with the arrival of Victor Munoz, Liverpool have now held talks to sign another La Liga star for Andoni Iraola.
The Reds welcomed Munoz at the manager’s request, as he looks to reintroduce heavy-metal football at Anfield following their attacking struggles at the end of Arne Slot’s tenure.
To do that, quick, direct wingers to be on the agenda. It’s why Munoz has arrived and why Yan Diomande is Liverpool’s top target to replace Mohamed Salah on the right-hand side.
The Premier League giants are likely to spend big yet again, too.
Recent reports have claimed that they’re set to submit another offer for Diomande not long after seeing their £87m bid rejected by RB Leipzig. Whether their next offer is enough to match the German club’s asking price remains to be seen, however.
Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool considering hijacking Arsenal target instead of Diomande
The Reds are set to spend big on another attacker after sealing a deal for Victor Munoz.
It’s not just wingers that they’re focused on, either. Iraola also believes that Liverpool need strengthening at right-back following Conor Bradley’s injury struggles and Jeremie Frimpong’s difficult debut season at Anfield.

Liverpool hold talks to sign La Liga star
According to Anfield Index, Liverpool have held talks with Adrei Ratiu and his camp over a potential move this summer and Michael Edwards is looking to land a deal worth less than his €25m (£22m) release clause.
Rayo Vallecano could reportedly accept an offer in the region of €20m (£17) in what would be an absolute bargain to solve the Reds’ right-back problem.
At such a price, however, it’s only natural that other suitors have emerged. Among them, Barcelona are looking to reinforce their backline and could race Liverpool to sign Ratiu as a result this summer.
Whether that accelerates Liverpool’s move is now the big question, especially when considering that the release clause is there to be triggered for any side.

The numbers show exactly why the 28-year-old is on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs.
He stepped forward to create for his side at times last season and recorded recovery numbers which would thrive in an Iraola side. At a maximum of £22m, Ratiu would be an absolute bargain for Liverpool this summer.
