West Ham hold transfer talks with former Arsenal and Man City star alongside Disasi

West Ham have held discussions with a former Liverpool and Man City star over a move to the London Stadium, according to ExWHUemployee, amid their Axel Disasi pursuit.

The Hammers have reportedly reached advanced negotiations with Chelsea over securing the French defender on loan until the end of the season, according to the likes of Fabrizio Romano and other sources.

West Ham are accelerating discussions with Monday’s deadline rapidly approaching, having freed up loan space following Igor Julio’s return to Brighton.

Manager Nuno Espírito Santo desperately requires defensive reinforcement as West Ham battle relegation, sitting five points adrift of safety despite consecutive victories over Tottenham and Sunderland.

Their defensive record remains catastrophic, surrendering 45 goals this campaign — the worst record of any Premier League side.

West Ham turn down chance to sign ex-Man United ace who Noble called a ‘top player’

He’s being offered to many clubs.

The 27-year-old Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ member presents an intriguing solution to this.

Chelsea secured his signature from Monaco for around £37 million in 2023, yet Disasi hasn’t featured this season after being relegated to training with reserves under former manager Enzo Maresca.

New boss Liam Rosenior reintegrated him into first-team training recently, though opportunities remain limited at Stamford Bridge.

Romano has also reported that despite persistent Italian interest from clubs including Fiorentina, Barcelona, Milan and Roma, not to mention the likes of Galatasaray, Disasi will remain in England’s top flight.

West Ham initially pursued the defender last summer before negotiations collapsed.

The Irons have concentrated primarily on attacking reinforcements this window, adding Keiber Lamadrid, Adama Traoré, Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos, yet defensive vulnerabilities continue undermining their survival hopes.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo have performed admirably recently, but Max Kilman has been underwhelming, and West Ham quite simply need another body in that area.

Disasi spent last season on loan at Aston Villa, with his Premier League experience and versatility potentially valuable to Nuno in this last phase of the campaign.

However, Disasi may not be their last piece of business.

West Ham hold discussions with Raheem Sterling

According to very reliable insider Ex, via his PatreonWest Ham have also held talks with free agent Raheem Sterling about the feasibility of a London Stadium switch.

The experienced winger is now up for grabs at zero cost, bar his potentially high wages, after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract at Chelsea.

Sterling and West Ham have apparently held conversations over a transfer, but it is believed that other less-threatened suitors could hold a greater appeal to the 31-year-old.

“It is thought the club have also held some discussion with Raheem Sterling over what terms he would expect for a move to the East End,” Ex said.

“The England international has a number of options and will weigh them up. West Ham’s precarious position probably makes the other clubs more appealing.”

The ex-Liverpool, Arsenal and City forward boasts years of top-level experience, having racked up 123 goals and 75 assists in nearly 400 Premier League outings.

Sterling is also a four-time Premier League winner with 88 Champions League appearances to boot, with the player’s winning mentality a potential boost for the West Ham dressing room.

However, now that he is a free agent, competition is rife, and Sky Sports claim Sterling has fielded inquiries from several Champions League-level clubs.
