With Otto Portor Jr gone off to the Raptors, a space opened up in Warrior’s lineup for a power forward, and Dario Saric shows to be the perfect fit. Saric, an unrestricted free agent and a former Phoenix Suns player, signed a 1-year contract with the Golden State Warriors to play their power forward for this year’s offseason.

The player must meet a basketball IQ to seamlessly fit in with the other team members’ organized yet chaotic, fast-paced playing style.
The player must be able to switch roles and know the team’s defensive schemes.
The player must be able to space the floor.
Dario Saric meets these requirements, and as a bonus to the team, he is 6’10”. This makes it easier for him to hold his own when faced with big opposing team players.
His ability to stretch the floor makes him stand out for someone his size, and he can play multiple positions on the court based on his skill set, making him versatile on both ends of the court.
This increases the Warrior’s offense options and enhances their defensive schemes. It also opens up the path for better ball movement and creates opportunities for his teammates to score.
His decision-making on the court shows his understanding of the game, and his basketball IQ shows through as he is fully aware while playing, makes smart passes and is always looking for open teammates to increase the chances of scoring. This has also led to him gaining steals and deflections while translating defenses on the court.
He has shown great ability to read defense while playing, resulting in improved chemistry among his teammates, especially with Chris Paul, another unrestricted agent and former teammate of Saric’s from the Phoenix Suns.
Saric has great scoring ability, as we have seen. He consistently adds points to the game and adds to the high standard of playing within the team while staying professional and showing off his work ethic.
This Croatian player’s talents were all displayed on November 1st when the Golden State Warriors won against the Sacramento Kings, thanks to Saric. He ended the game with 15 points, 2 assists, 6 rebounds and shot 60% from the 3-point line. This gave the Warriors the much-needed victory to start the NBA in-season tournament.
He is an asset and key player that will contribute to the team’s overall performance throughout this season.
Positioned alongside Draymond Green, also a power forward, there’s no limit on where these two will take the Golden State Warriors this year. Green, who is praising Saric for his great talents on the court, is a veteran player himself.
