Formula 1 signs multi-year betting partnership with Betway

The Formula 1 World Championship has announced a multi-year partnership with Betway, making the sportsbook the first official betting partner in the championship’s history.

The agreement will come into effect from the start of the 2026 Formula 1 season and will cover key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Canada and Mexico.

As part of their agreement, ALT Sports Data will become the primary data partner of Formula 1 by offering bettors access to live and historical betting information in real-time. In addition to providing access to the latest information related to race performance, ALT Sports Data will provide insight into how statistical data can be used for developing new betting opportunities and odds based on official historical and live race statistics.

Live betting will focus on race strategy and real-time developments, allowing fans to place bets on events such as safety car deployments, pit stop strategies, and on-track battles between drivers. These markets will rely on millions of data points collected during races, including tire performance, lap times, and weather conditions.

According to Formula 1’s Director of Commercial Partnerships, Jonny Haworth, the initiative represents a new era of fan engagement, using official data to bring fans closer to the strategic aspects of the sport. Neal Menashe, CEO of Super Group (Betway’s parent company), also noted that the deal strengthens Betway’s presence in top-tier global sports and will introduce innovative betting markets during race weekends.

The partnership highlights the increased connection between sport-related data, digital applications and regulated betting, allowing Formula 1 to provide fans with new levels of interactive engagement on a global basis.
